Daily Devotional Feb 9th 2021: Possessions for Thee - But not for Me

The incredible hypocrisy, the deception, the greed, the theft of those who worship the root of all evil, fills me with sadness and anger. Their motivation is unholy. The result is poverty, hunger, and death, and no rights.

1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

Those who are promoting having NO POSSESSIONS, take that verse and falsely declare socialism and communism to be God's will. How wrong they are.

I can assure you, it is not God's modus operandi. The enemy, as he does, twists God's Word, taking passages out of context to make it fit their sinful desires. Let me prove it to you. God commanded the people to have dominion over everything. But nowhere did He command us to have dominion over other people.

Genesis 1 (KJV)

26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” 

There is that.

Governments are supposed to represent their citizens, not to rule over them. Christian in name only Biden doesn't want to know. His attitude alone disqualifies this entity and his VP from ever holding public office. But then, the looneys take God's Word and claim falsely that Jesus would have been a communist.

We are supposed to HAVE possessions AND to do good with them. There is no good in the motivation Satan, the U.N. has. Those who are deceived are blinded by their laziness and good intentions follow evil unaware. No intention can be good when God is removed from the equation. Why? Because they are not immersed in the Word of God.

2 Chronicles 12:14

“And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.” 

Genesis 26:14
“For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.”

In context, the Philistines, today's Palestinians, are the descendants of an ungodly people. We will discuss fallen angels (Nephilim), giants (Rephaems), and demons (spirits of deceased giants) in another devotional. Of course, they envied the people of God.

Satan and his minions base their assertion on the books of Acts, which by the way, should be called Acts of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:45

“And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.” 

Acts 4:32 - 4:35

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any [of them] that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid [them] down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

The deceivers fail to mention that these acts by the church were voluntary, not forced by immoral taxes and unlawful edicts. Of course, giving up all personal possessions won't move the rulers out of their palaces, get them off their private jets, or surrender their wealth to feed the poor. Thanks, but no thanks. People of God use their possessions to help those who can't help themselves. God wants us to prosper, not be collectively poor.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB)

For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Can I get an AMEN?

Let us pray, then, for the fallen, the blind, the deceived, and also for ourselves.

LORD, all glory and praise be to you forever. You are our Lord and Saviour, our King. We worship you by living a life that is pleasing to You.
LORD, we bring before you good and evil; that you may open the eyes of the blinded, the lazy-minded, the deceived, that you may soften their hearts where this is possible and grant them Salvation according to Your will.
LORD, protect us who follow Jesus and made Him King over our lives, from deception. Let the Holy Spirit guide us. Grant us discernment, and rekindle our love and yearning for Your Word for all eternity, that we may not fall victim to the lies of the enemy.
LORD, we pray, that the riches of prosperous will not be used against the people of God, indeed, not against any human on earth; that every project not in your statues will fail even before the idea is hatched.
LORD, we pray that we will not sit by as we lose this battle, which is first spiritual and then physical.

Pray for the continued awakening of the people and the re-establishment of justice and righteousness in America. May it be on earth as it is in heaven.
