Daily Devotional March 8th 2021: Distractions

A failed actress and princess wannabe and her servant are making international headlines. They slander the Royal House of Windsor and are washing their dirty laundry in front of the world. The headlines occupy 80% of the trash talk this morning. I am disgusted for several reasons. But I am taken aback not because I worship the Queen and her riches, I am baffled that there are any headlines at all. I thought America had rid herself of the royals in 1776... The kingdom of Britain is a mere shadow of its former self. When I think of the British royal class, I think of tyranny, the tyranny that the brave men and women freed the United States from. I think of medals and honor being given by the royals to savage child abusers; I think of the death of Diana; indeed, of death and depravity. I think of the wealth the royal house has amassed over the centuries. Even today, British taxpayers still dish out millions for the security of their royals. Oh, it's just $3.00 a year, they say, but if I were to receive $3.00 from 70 Million subjects of the crown, I'd be well off, sort of. The British love their royals as they love aunty BBC and their tea. But Britain as a superpower and its Royal House is in decline because much like America, they have forgotten their real King, He, Who is and is to come.

Revelation 1:4 - 1:8
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5 And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

I often wonder how much good the rich and influential could do on earth if they followed the real King and worked for the establishment of His Kingdom?

Imagine Bill Gates declaring publically Jesus his Lord and Savior, repenting of the evil deeds he has done, is doing and is planning to execute? How many people could be fed? How many governments would change their ungodly and oppressive policies? How many souls would this simple act of love save in a single day? Would it be billions? 

Imagine if the Queen, although she quotes the Bible once a year, acted in godly ways all-year-round by standing up for the name of Jesus and His teachings, by openly rejecting ungodly causes such as child trafficking, sodomy, and the progressive murder of the unborn! Imagine how much such public defense of the LORD would bless the Royal House of Windsor and the British Nation! 

That would be genuine love. But do they know any love except the love of themselves? The LORD would forgive all their sins, but they reject His Royalty, His Supremacy as the Creator, and His Kingdom.

1 Peter 4:8
“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.”

Matthew 24:12
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

Yet, the people are infatuated by a news cycle that makes me gag. Do they not see the sideshow, the clown show, the distraction for what it is? 

That's why I am disgusted with it. Tell God, what kingdom are you focusing on today?

Psalms 45:6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
Psalms 145:11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
Psalms 145:13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

How to Pray

Call upon the Heavenly Father and pray in the name of Jesus.
Bless God and worship Him before any petition.
Praise God before you ask for anything because He is worthy.
Be thankful for the food you put on your table, for a roof over your head, indeed, for peace in the land.
Pray for forgiveness, as you forgive those who have done you wrong.
Pray that you cross paths with those who need help, that God may use you to meet their needs.
And pray that LORD shall keep your heart and mind from sin.

Matthew 6:9 - 6:13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
